“Emily helped us break down what we do into a really powerful one-line statement, and that has been such a game changer for me.”

Jessica Azzouz, Executive Assistant in technology, on the EA & PA Strategy Training Day with Emily Partridge.

My biggest learning from the EA & PA Strategy Training Day has to be how much we overcompensate as EAs when we are asked what we do for a living. We over-explain to try to get people to grasp what we do. Emily gave us a really simple exercise: explain what you do for a living. Out of a group of five of us with over 25 years of experience between us, we really struggled with it.

Emily helped us break down what we do into a really powerful one-line statement, and that has been such a game changer for me. It is something I use regularly when people ask what I do or what impact I have at my company, and I know it is a true reflection of our role. It was a question I honestly used to dread, because I just did not know how to explain what I do.

The day also gave me a real sense of pride and confidence that I was not expecting. That was not the reason I went, but the confidence and the pride I left with for the career I have chosen was huge, and a real unexpected takeaway for me.

Another thing I absolutely loved was the network I have made. There were five of us, all on different but similar journeys. We all knew what we wanted from our careers and where we were heading, and we had similar stories and challenges along the way. It was so nice to have a community, and we are all still in touch now.

I would 100% recommend the day with Emily and eavolve wherever you are in your career. If you are six months in or 20 years in, you are going to have key takeaways and learnings no matter where you are. I could not recommend it enough, and I am looking forward to my next course with eavolve.
